Jack Petchey Award Scheme
The club is urgently looking for a volunteer to take on the role of co-ordinator so we can go back into the Jack Petchey award scheme.
Sutton & District AC were proud to be part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme which allows us to recognise the achievements of our young athletes each year. Awards can be given for commitment, competing, supporting others and achieving personal goals
Winners of the award will receive a certificate, pin badge and a congratulations letter with achievers card and will be able to help decide how the club should spend the £250 that Jack Petchey awards the club for each winner. There is a wish list created with ideas on how to spend the funds it might be towards a specialist coach, coaching or officials course, specialist equipment or even towards a day out for your fellow training group. If you have any ideas you would like to put forward to the wish list please do let us know.
Nominations
Each Coaching group of Athletes will be asked to nominate athletes who must be aged 11-25. They will need to give reasons why they think they have nominated their fellow team mate. Athletes can also give nominations to their coaches at the end of a training session or email into the club if they prefer. Athletes can nominate athletes from different groups. Our Team Managers and Coaches can also nominate an athlete for an award. If you know of an athlete who is deserving of this award please contact the club.
All nominations will be put forward and the winners will be chosen by the Club committee and previous club winners. Winners will be presented with their awards at a coaching session or at a presentation event. An athlete can only receive the award once during their time at Sutton & District. Athletes will receive their medal at the presentation ceremonies held by the Jack Petchey organisation. We would encourage all winners to take pride in this achievement and also hope they would consider becoming part of the Young Athletes Committee at Sutton & District Ac.
If you have any questions about the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards or the Young Athletes Committee please email Mandy Walters - Jack Petchey Co-Ordinator [email protected]
